Are you “Crazy in Love”? Do you love “Just the Way (She) Look(s) Tonight”? Do you have a “Funny Valentine”? Do you hope you and your loved one will say “Let’s Stay Together”? Are you ready to say, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: I’m Yours” to your Valentine? Are you and your Valentine an “Eternal Flame”? You and your Valentine… “That’s Amore,” am I right? Oh, I could go on… We say “yes” to all of those questions, AND we “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with essential oils like Lavender, Clary Sage, YlangYlang, and Rose Geranium this Valentine’s Season. I know I’m getting gushy about fragrances; of all things, but there’s a reason for it! Our sense of smell is directly linked to our memories and emotions. According to “Psychology and Smell,” published on the Fifth Sense website, “The sense of smell is closely linked with memory, probably more so than any of our other senses. Those with full olfactory function may be able to think of smells that evoke particular memories… In addition to being the sense most closely linked to memory, smell is also highly emotive…On a more personal level, smell is extremely important when it comes to attraction between two people.” Our brains connect specific aromas to our memories and the emotions we experience. That’s why we are brought right back to one particular experience the moment we catch a whiff of a particular fragrance. For me, every time I smell Clary Sage Essential Oil, I think about Valentine’s Day in elementary school. It reminds me of Sweet Tarts candy. We had a Valentine’s Day Party every year at our school, and everyone in my class had a Valentine’s box decorated with pink, purple, and red hearts, and glitter. On that day we would bring in cards and treats to fill each other’s boxes. I loved reading the little notes from my classmates and teacher, and gobbling up the treats, like chocolate kisses and Sweet Tarts candy. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I’m seeing advertisements telling me I should buy my loved one expensive jewelry, high-end flower arrangements, decadent chocolate covered strawberries with gold leaf, and, the ever random, new car. (TBH, I don’t understand how anyone would be cool with their partner buying a new car for any holiday without a discussion!)
I love the idea of showing my partner I care through a thoughtful gift, and I do enjoy the “Valentine’s Gift Categories” in general: flowers, jewelry, candy. But lately, I’ve found so much more value in the unique, special, and multi-use gifts. I love when my partner can spend a little less but have the gift mean so much more. This Valentine’s Day, “All you need is love” and these fragrance products to show your partner you care. Your special someone will love these fragrance products in place of the typical flowers and jewelry gifts this Valentine’s Day! Give your Valentine long-lasting fragrance “flowers” and aromatherapy “jewelry” from The Gift of Scent. Aromatherapy Scent Pendant with Essential Oil Delight your partner with the new Aromatherapy Scent Pendant with Lavender or Peppermint Essential oil. This handmade aromatherapy charm will be your partner’s favorite gift. She can hang it from her rearview mirror, to brighten up the feeling in her car while giving off a wonderful scent. The ceramic lotus flower insert in the delicate filigree locket is handmade by the talented artisans at Arta Ceramica (not from a factory) to diffuse her favorite scents while she travels. Hang it in the closet or small space. Just add a few drops of the essential oil and enjoy. Read more about the Aromatherapy Scent Pendant: Premium Pluggable Cherry Blossoms with Wild Flowers Fragrance Oil I’ll be honest: I love when my husband buys me flowers…but I hate how quickly they die. They smell great for a day or two and then I have to throw them in the trash. With the Premium Pluggable Cherry Blossoms with Wild Flowers Fragrance Oil, I get up to 30 days of wild flower fragrance per bottle that fills the entire room and that is easy to replace with any of my favorite fragrances. Plus, the Pluggable diffuser looks beautiful forever. Those are the kinds of flowers I appreciate receiving for Valentine’s Day. Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! Kate from TheGiftofScent.com. Via https://www.thegiftofscent.com/collections/all-you-need-is-love-and-these-fragrances/ What do you know about essential oils and aromatherapy? Before I started using essential oils, I heard tons of random information about them, and it was, honestly, overwhelming. There is so much information about what essential oils can do to support our physical, mental, and emotional health, and there is a lot of competing information about how they should be used. After a lot of research and experimentation, here are the basics I’ve learned: Essential oils are the most powerful part of the plant. They are the life blood of the plant; they move nutrients through the stem to every part of the plant. They are distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, fruit, rinds, resins, and herbs. Essential oils consist of over 100 different natural, organic compounds. There are many different oils available, but you don’t need to be a certified aroma therapist to use them to support your health. This article on Healthline succinctly describes aromatherapy: “Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. Sometimes it’s called essential oil therapy. Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit.” As its name suggests, aromatherapy is primarily “aromatic.” When you breathe in an essential oil, it takes only a few seconds for the oil to be absorbed through your respiratory tract and lungs and, from there, circulated throughout your entire blood stream. Additionally, aromas are a direct link to our memories and emotions, which makes them powerful for supporting mental health and working through emotional traumas. Essential oils can help support emotional work, such as the mental and emotional healing process that occurs in talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and more. After years of trying out aromatherapy techniques, I’ve learned which essential oils are my go-to’s to help support my emotional, mental, and physical health. I use ultrasonic diffusers to circulate essential oils into the air around me: Peppermint essential oil helps me feel energized—especially when I’m feeling groggy due to having a negative mindset about a stressful situation. It is also my favorite to diffuse when I’m feeling uneasy physically. The crisp aroma from the menthol in peppermint essential oil helps me feel clean and clear headed. Lavender essential oil can help me feel relaxed and ready to wind down for sleep after a busy day. Stress can cause so many negative things physically, mentally, and emotionally, and lavender can help me get into a relaxed headspace to combat stress. Sweet orange essential oil helps me feel fresh and energetic. I love to diffuse sweet orange for an uplifting aroma during the dark winter months when I’m feeling cooped up and grumpy. Clary sage and Ylang Ylang essential oils are two of my favorite oils to diffuse during my menstrual cycle when my hormones are raging. Their floral, tart, and sweet aromas help me feel balanced and even keel when my body is going through hormonal fluctuations. Belle Aroma offers all of the oils I list above, and more. The all new Belle Aroma Organic Essential Oils include Lavender, Peppermint, Sweet Orange, Lemongrass, and Fennel. In addition, Belle Aroma now offers 100% pure Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, and Rose Geranium essential oils. Check out the descriptions of each oil below, along with some tips and ideas for how to use them: Organic Sweet Orange: Refreshing and Uplifting—Begin each day anew feeling calm and clear with a breeze of cheerful orange aroma.
Organic Lemongrass: Revitalizing and Citrusy—Revitalizes your awareness with its fresh and crisp herbal-lemon aroma.
Organic Lavender: Relaxing and Clean—Invites you to take a deep breath in and exhale out all the stress and worry of the day.

Pure Clary Sage: Sweet and Playful—Find balance and joy during times of unevenness with the sweet, tart, playful aroma of clary sage.
Pure Rose Geranium: Floral and Bright—Elevate your mood with the blooming aroma of rose geranium.
Pure Ylang Ylang: Rich and Floral—Mellow out and feel warm and content with the floral, dense, sweet aroma of ylang ylang.

Wishing you a healthy and aromatic year, Kate for The Gift of Scent. Via https://www.thegiftofscent.com/collections/aromatherapy-essentials-new-organic-pure-belle-aroma-essential-oils/ I recently had the opportunity to try a new addition to The Gift of Scent product offerings. And I’m ready to call this product my friend. Its name is “Aromatherapy Scent Pendant” from the Belle Aroma® brand of fragrance diffusers. It’s a locket with a pretty ceramic flower charm inside which you can load with essential oil and hang on the rearview mirror of your car. So, that’s what I did. I loaded the ceramic charm with several drops of organic peppermint oil, one of two varieties of essential oils included in the packaging. Using the satin ribbon attached to the locket, I placed the diffuser over my car’s rearview mirror, and forgot about it. Until I got back in the car again. With the peppermint essential oil applied, I returned to the wonderful feeling of aromatherapy in my car. I say “feeling” because the good smells of aromatherapy bring on a “feeling” that all is right with the world. Peppermint essential oil is one of my favorites for its cleansing value. It’s also a known entity for clearing your head for clarity and focus. Its effect is like a breeze of fresh air. A mood lifter. Just the way I want to drive. Some say peppermint has antifungal and antiviral properties. I haven’t run my own study, but in case they are right, I want it around, in some capacity, all the time. Bejeweled as it is, this diffuser masquerades as a piece of jewelry, so I didn’t want to just leave it hanging in my car. If it works there, where else could it serve a practical and pretty purpose? The just–right length of the ribbon makes it easy to remove from the rearview mirror, so with peppermint oil applied, how about a hook in a musty closet? Or beside my side of the bed or my office space hanging from a lamp finial? You betcha! For bedroom usage, I switched to the Scent Pendant kit that comes with lavender essential oil, since I was out of my own. Lavender is way more useful than peppermint for inducing sleep. Deskside, peppermint oil Scent Pendant rides out the day with me as I write and organize. Can a product be your friend, a steady Eddie, a reliable companion that makes you smile? That’s a hearty “heck, yeah”, from me. Let me know how you “Scent-Pendant.” Happy New Year! Jean VanGrey for TheGiftofScent.com Via https://www.thegiftofscent.com/aroma-diffusers/aromatherapy-scent-pendant-can-a-product-be-your-friend/ It’s that time of year again when the fitness gurus go into overdrive marketing their newest “Get Fit” programs. If you’re like me, you’re probably feeling the nudge to get back in the gym and start 2021 off on the best foot. I actually enjoy getting into the gym and getting a good sweat session on. I enjoy lifting weights, running, swimming, cycling, yoga classes…anything active is my jam. But…I also have an extremely sensitive sense of smell. And what comes with a massive sweat session? STINKY shoes. STINKY gym bag. STINKY gym locker. Pew!
I finally found a product that works for 30 days or more, and it’s as easy as throwing it in my bag or in my shoes to keep my gear smelling fresh so I can focus on my workout and not on how I smell. PowerFresh® Throw-&-Go Portable Air Fresheners are the BEST way to keep my gym bag and workout shoes smelling fresh and clean. The PowerFresh Throw-&-Go air fresheners are small, scented disks that fit easily in any enclosed space. My favorite is the Cottony Fresh Power Fresh. Every time I put my shoes on, they smell fresh from the dryer, and my gym bag smells like it’s been open to a spring breeze all day—even when it’s been baking in my car or stuffed into a locker at the gym. Take your pick from 5 fragrances to give your workout gear the refresh it needs:

Kate for TheGiftofScent.Com Via https://www.thegiftofscent.com/collections/throw-this-in-your-gym-bag-your-nose-will-thank-you/ I’ve seen so many people on social media talking about how they want to hit “restart” in 2020. They think the year was a waste…that it was the year the world stopped and that it will show up as a big blank page in all our narratives. But I disagree. True, 2020 is the year the world “stopped,” but really, the stopping was a pause. Though so much of the year was fraught with difficulty and sadness, this great pause also gave us the chance to take stock of our lives—to find out which parts of our existence we needed and loved and which parts were just filler. I don’t think we need a “restart” with the new year. We don’t need to just forget the year 2020 ever happened and move on to 2021. Instead, we need a “Refresh.” We need a chance to change perspectives and think with a renewed mindset in 2021. It’s time to start thinking about ways we can refresh our minds, our bodies, our lifestyles, and our spaces so the year 2021 can be a year we will look back on fondly as the year we learned who we are and lived with integrity. Here are some ways to “Refresh” your home, workspace, vehicle, and even your body and mind this new year with fragrance products from The Gift of Scent: Refresh Your HomeLet’s start with the space where most of us spent our time this past year — home. You don’t have to wait for Spring Cleaning to Refresh your home! Don’t let the stagnant air of 2020 keep you feeling stuck. Refresh your home with products like these:
Refresh Your Work SpaceWhether you work from home or are back in the office, your workspace could use some refreshing essential oils to motivate you and give you energy every day. Try these fragrances in your workspace:
Refresh Your VehicleWhen you have to get from home to work in a musty vehicle, any positive feelings you left home with are most likely gone by the time you hit the first stoplight. Refresh your vehicle with these fragrance products:
Refresh Your Body & MindAnd finally, the most important refresh we need this new year is a refresh of our body and mind. Take a renewing bath to help you feel refreshed and ready to step confidently into the new year:
Remember: We don’t need a redo of 2020. We just need to Refresh our mindsets and step into the New Year with a renewed sense of who we are and who we want to become. Happy New Year, everyone! Kate Healy for TheGiftofScent.com Via https://www.thegiftofscent.com/collections/hit-refresh-this-new-year-with-fragrance-products/ Wow, what a year 2020 was, am I right? Are you tired of hearing that yet? I feel like, even though the world was basically on pause for the whole year, I didn’t get any rest. And after how the world imploded, I feel in desperate need of real rest and recovery. I’m focusing on self-care this new year with an emphasis on rest and recovery. Here are my favorite self-care, rest, and recovery products from The Gift of Scent: Salt Soaks
The first thing that comes to mind when I’m thinking about rest and relaxation is a nice hot bath. I love adding Epsom salts to my bath to help soothe tired muscles, and the Salt Soak blends from The Gift of Scent go all out with ingredients that help soothe and relax your body and mind. Try the “I Am Abundant” Salt Soak with Epsom Salt, Himalayan pink salt, Rose Petals, Chamomile Flowers, and essential oils. Or try the “I Am Peaceful” Salt Soak with Epsom Salt, Himalayan Salt, Dead Sea Mineral Salt, Rose Petals, Lavender Buds, and essential oils—Lavender and Ylang Ylang. Spa Pillow
Whenever I need some heat therapy on my shoulders, I reach for the Grapemist Cuddle Spa Neck Pillow. The pillow has a gel pack that can be heated or put in the freezer for cold therapy. I just put the pillow in the microwave for 1 minute, then add a couple drops of Lavender essential oil on the pillow, place it on my shoulders…and lean back in my comfy chair. Amp up your spa game by adding some relaxing, meditative music, warm soft socks and a blanket, a relaxing face mask, and either the sleep mask (details below) or a couple slices of cucumber over your eyes. Total relaxation. LavenderWhen I think of relaxation and sleep, the first fragrance I reach for is lavender. When I’m getting ready for bed or trying to establish a restful atmosphere, I add Belle Aroma® 100% Pure Organic Lavender Essential Oil to my ultrasonic diffuser or diffuse Lavender Fields Fragrance Oil in my Plugables® Electric Home Fragrancer. Try lavender, sweet orange, and eucalyptus fragrance products, like the Belle Aroma essential oils or Reed Diffusers. Sleep Mask
I was very recently introduced to the wonder of the sleep mask. I’m a light sleeper, which is ironic because any “light” wakes me up pretty much right away. And since I live in a city, there’s always some light streaming through my apartment window. The Embroidered Lavender & Chrysanthemum Sleep Mask is the perfect addition to your sleep set up. Lavender is naturally relaxing and can help your body produce melatonin naturally. And melatonin is key to your ability to fall asleep. Take a much-deserved nap or settle in for sleep with the Lavender & Chrysanthemum Sleep Mask. We all deserve some true rest and relaxation this new year to recover from the stress of 2020! I hope you are able to make recovery a priority in your self-care routine. Happy New Year! Kate Healy for TheGiftofScent.com Via https://www.thegiftofscent.com/collections/focus-on-recovery-this-new-year/ Whether or not you’re setting New Year Resolutions in 2021, we could all use a boost of energy to tackle this next year. There are so many pieces that go into cultivating a healthy energy level: quality of sleep, stress level, exercise/movement, hydration, quality of food you consume, etc. There are also hundreds of supplements that can help support your body to produce healthy energy levels. One of my favorite ways to support my energy level is with aromatherapy. Diffusing specific essential oils at various times of the day can help me relax, improve my mood, decrease my stress, and give me the boost of energy I need when the afternoon slump hits. Here’s how to use aromatherapy to improve your energy levels. Peppermint to Promote Energy When starting a new exercise program—or even just when the 3 p.m. collapse comes around—I need all the encouragement I can get to get going. Aromatherapy is one of the best ways to give your energy a quick boost. Peppermint is my go-to. Diffusing peppermint essential oil can help me clear my head and energize me to go do whatever is on my list. Try a couple drops of Belle Aroma® 100% Pure Organic Peppermint Essential Oil in a FlashScent® USB Aromatherapy Diffuser anytime you need an energy boost. Lavender for Supported Sleep Energy requires rest and recovery. Support healthy sleep and relaxation with Lavender essential oil. Lavender is often called the “Swiss Army” oil because it has so many uses! Diffuse a few drops of Lavender essential in your Ultrasonic Diffuser at night to help you relax. Lavender may help increase melatonin levels to help you fall asleep with ease. Lavender is also a great oil to add to a bath for a relaxing, aromatic soak. Try Belle Aroma 100% Pure Organic Lavender Essential Oil. Sweet Orange and Lemongrass to Reduce Stress Reduce your stress level to help promote healthy energy. The sweet smell of orange is uplifting and can help reduce stress when diffused. When life gets especially stressful this new year, diffuse a few drops of Sweet Orange and a few drops of Lemongrass essential oils to help calm your anxiety. Sweet Orange essential oil may also help to promote better exercise performance. Diffuse during your at-home workout. Lemongrass essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties. Add it to a post-workout bath to help promote recovery. Try Belle Aroma 100% Pure Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil and Belle Aroma 100% Pure Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil. I hope you have all had a fantastic holiday season, and cheers to an energized New Year!
